2 quick Valentine’s Day chocolate desserts.

Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and at 704 Kitchen we like to celebrate eating some great food. As clichèd as it may sound, chocolate, in some form or fashion, is a must in our Valentine’s Day meal. Something rich and indulgent is always nice, but for this special day, we like to spruce up the presentation.

These two quick desserts are chocolate-y and so beautiful to look at (and eat). So if you are planning to cook in this Valentine’s Day, try one of these for dessert. You can experiment with different toppings and serve in your best bowls. Maybe have a fancy table set out, or just enjoy is with a movie. At the end of the day, theses will taste delicious because they’ll have that special secret ingredient: love. 😉

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

1. Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients:

  1. Whipping cream – 1 cup
  2. Chocolate chips – 1/2 cup

Method:

  • In a medium bowl, beat cream with an egg beater until stiff peaks form. Refrigerate.
  • On a double, melt chocolate.
  • Take whipped cream out of the fridge and FOLD melted chocolate until well combined.
  • Top with strawberries.

2. Chocolate Ganache

Ingredients:

  1. Heavy cream – 1/4 cup
  2. Chocolate chips – 1/2 cup

Method:

  • In a small bowl, combine cream and chocolate chips.
  • Microwave for 30 seconds.
  • Mix.
  • Microwave another 15 seconds. (depending on your microwave heat level, you might want to put it in for longer or less time)
  • Mix well until chocolate chips are melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • On skewers, have pieces of fruit to dip into the ganache.
